“Typography has one plain duty before it and that is to convey information in writing.”

I accidentally explored some of the (maybe) lesser-known founders of the International Typographic Style, a style also knows as Swiss Style.
The Swiss Style was defined by the use of sans-serif typefaces, and employed a page grid for structure, producing asymmetrical layouts.
We are talking about projects and posters from the 50’s and 60’s that continue to influence both print and interactive design till nowadays. Α contemporary value style with works considered phresh to this day.

Google – surfing led me to a designer and typographer by the name of Emil Ruder (1914-1970), who played a key part in the development and dissemination of the Swiss Style.

These posters are over 50 years old, made with no photoshop or corel or whatever fancy software used nowadays.
